Theatre
Toronto is known as the third most prominent live theatre city in the world behind only New York and London. For specific times, please consult with the concierge directly at concierge@germaintoronto.com. Please note: theatres are typically dark on Mondays.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be playing in Toronto this fall.
The Second City
The Second City performs topical sketch comedy satirizing all aspects of everyday life, seven days a week. Enjoy a performance by the company that inspired SCTV, Saturday Night Live and Whose Line Is It Anyway? Past alumni include Mike Myers, John Candy and Eugene Levy, just to name a few. The cabaret theatre is conveniently located just steps from Hôtel Le Germain Toronto.
The Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People
For the kid in us all comes a theatre that has been producing dynamic and cutting edge plays since the 1960s. It has won many awards for its innovative and exciting plays geared towards a younger audience; however, its productions can be enjoyed by “children” of all ages.
Soulpepper Theatre
Located in the historical Distillery District, this 10-year-old theatre company has made many contributions to Toronto’s cultural scene. It produces plays by a variety of authors, including Shakespeare.
DanCap Productions
This is the latest theatre company to hit the Toronto entertainment scene. It produces the best of Broadway and has had several successful productions to date. The Drowsy Chaperone was their inaugural production here in Toronto and it was quite a big hit.
Sports & Entertainment
Toronto Blue Jays
Toronto’s baseball season will begin on April 6th, 2009, with a home opener against the Tigers of Detroit. Tickets can be purchased by calling 416-341-1234 or visiting the box office located at Rogers Centre Gate #9.
Toronto Raptors
The NBA is in town! Toronto Raptors home games take place at the Air Canada Centre.
Maple Leafs
What major Canadian city would be complete without is very own hockey team? The season is well underway.
The Toronto Rock
Toronto even has a championship lacrosse team that also plays at the Air Canada Centre.
Transportation
Hôtel Le Germain Toronto is located approximately 30 minutes by car from Lester B. Pearson International Airport. Various transportation options are available from the airport to Hôtel Le Germain Toronto:
- Taxi: Usually between $40 and $50 (+ gratuity), depending on traffic.
- Limousine: The set fare is $56 (+ taxes and gratuities); this service can be reserved with our concierge by email at concierge@germaintoronto.com. Company: Richmond Limo. (prices subject to change)
- Airport Express: Airport Express provides regular shuttle service every 20 to 30 minutes, 7 days a week. The one-way rate for adults is $19.95; the round trip rate is $32.95. The closest stop to the hotel is at the corner of King Street and Blue Jays Way (right behind the hotel). Ask for the Hyatt Regency on King. (prices subject to change)

Hôtel Le Germain Toronto is just a few minutes from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, served by Porter Airlines. So getting from the airport to the hotel is easy:
- Taxi: The fare is approximately $10 (+ gratuity) depending on traffic conditions, but may run as high as $20 during rush hour.
- Shuttle service: The Porter Airlines shuttle runs from the airport to downtown Toronto every 30 minutes and stops at the Metro Toronto Convention Center, the stop closest to the hotel.
